HEK293 cells are commonly used as expression vectors in cell therapy, gene therapy, and biopharmaceuticals, widely applied in the production of proteins, vaccines, anticancer agents, and recombinant adenovirus coatings. However, the genome of HEK293 cells integrates adenoviral genes, such as E1A and E1B, which inevitably leads to the presence of residual E1A and E1B DNA contaminants. These contaminants not only reduce the effectiveness of viral vector-based drugs but may also pose safety risks such as infectivity or tumorigenicity. As a result, regulatory agencies in various countries have imposed strict controls on the residual DNA content in biological products.
This kit is based on quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) technology, with primers and probes specifically designed for the E1B gene. Along with ready-to-use E1B DNA quantitative standards, it provides a rapid and highly sensitive qPCR kit for the quantification of residual E1B DNA from host cells, such as HEK293 and 293T cells, in biological products.
