3. How we collect personal data
We collect personal data directly from you when you complete a website or exhibition form, scan a QR code, voluntarily provide or authorize the scanning of your event badge after a relevant notice is presented, provide a business card, contact our team, request information, or correspond with us.
We may also receive business contact information from exhibition organizers, authorized representatives, your employer, professional directories, public business sources, distributors or other business partners, where permitted by applicable law. Receiving contact information does not by itself establish marketing consent. We maintain the source and communication status separately.
4. How and why we use personal data
We may use personal data to:
- respond to enquiries and provide requested product, technical, sample, quotation or service information;
- prepare for or perform a contract and manage our business relationship;
- record and follow up on exhibition and event interactions;
- send product, application, exhibition and other business marketing communications where you have consented or where another lawful basis is available under applicable law;
- personalize communications based on your company type, professional role, product interests and previous interactions;
- manage subscription preferences, unsubscribes, delivery failures, complaints and suppression records;
- measure campaign delivery and engagement and improve our communications;
- operate, secure, analyze and improve our website, systems, products and services;
- detect misuse, fraud, security incidents and technical problems; and
- meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting and compliance obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we rely on your consent, steps requested before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries, managing business relationships, securing our systems and conducting proportionate business-to-business marketing. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time.
Where marketing consent is required, the consent request is presented at the relevant collection point, such as a website form, exhibition form or QR-based event process, and applies only to the channels and purposes described there.
5. Marketing choices and unsubscribe requests
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting marketing@biori-en.com. After an unsubscribe request, we will stop the relevant marketing communications and place the address in our suppression records to help prevent future marketing messages.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending non-marketing messages that are necessary to respond to your request, perform a contract, provide safety or service information, or meet legal obligations.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use necessary cookies to operate and secure the website. Subject to applicable consent requirements, we may also use analytics and advertising technologies to understand website use, improve our content and measure marketing performance.
We use Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising, which may use cookies and similar technologies to collect behavioral metrics, heatmaps, session interactions and advertising-related information. For more information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Available cookie controls and browser settings may be used to manage non-essential cookies.
7. Email delivery and tracking
We use Twilio SendGrid to deliver emails and manage delivery events. Depending on our configuration and your choices, emails may contain tracking technologies that report delivery, opens, clicks, bounces, spam complaints and unsubscribe events. We use this information to operate campaigns, understand engagement, maintain deliverability and honor communication preferences.
8. AI-assisted classification and personalization
We may use authorized software and AI-assisted tools to classify a business by industry or application area, identify likely professional interests, organize contact records and help personalize draft communications. These activities support our staff and are not used to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Our staff may review and correct classifications.
9. How we disclose personal data
We may disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary to:
- hosting, website, cloud, CRM, IT support and security providers;
- email-delivery and communication providers, including Twilio SendGrid;
- analytics and advertising providers, including Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising;
- authorized distributors, event partners or service providers assisting with your request;
- professional advisers, auditors, insurers and authorities where required; and
- a buyer, investor or successor in connection with a proposed or completed corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
Service providers are permitted to process personal data only for agreed services and subject to applicable contractual, confidentiality and security obligations. We do not provide business contact details to third parties for their independent direct marketing unless you have agreed or applicable law permits it.
10. International data transfers
Biori is based in China and works with service providers that may process personal data in China, the United States and other countries or regions. Data-protection laws in those locations may differ from those in your location.
Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards, which may include data-processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, access controls and other contractual, organizational and technical measures. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your personal data.
11. How long we retain personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including the duration of an enquiry or business relationship and any period required for legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes.
Marketing contact information is retained while the relevant marketing permission or other lawful basis remains valid, unless you unsubscribe or request deletion and no overriding lawful reason requires continued retention. We may retain limited consent evidence, unsubscribe records and suppression data after an unsubscribe or deletion request where necessary to document compliance and prevent further marketing messages.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss and misuse. No system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; request data portability; and complain to a competent data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, contact marketing@biori-en.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
14. Children
Our website, products and business communications are directed to professionals and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children for marketing purposes.
15. Third-party websites and embedded content
Our website may link to or embed content from third-party websites. Those third parties may collect information under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their independent privacy practices.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies or legal requirements. We will publish the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent for material changes.
