The CM-8 Centrifuge & Mixer All-in-One combines a mini centrifuge and a mixer. You set the speed, mixing intensity, the two run times and the number of cycles once; the instrument then alternates centrifugation and mixing for 1–999 cycles. Droplets on tube walls and caps are collected, and the reaction is mixed evenly before the tubes go into the PCR or qPCR instrument, without moving them between a vortex mixer and a centrifuge by hand.
Two models are available. CM-8 runs centrifugation and mixing together; its 8-tube strip rack also holds four 1.5/2 mL tubes. CM-8 Plus adds a 12-place 1.5/2 mL tube rack and three operating modes.

Features and applications
- Centrifuge and mix in one run: the program alternates centrifugation and mixing automatically for 1–999 cycles, with three mixing intensities (Strong, Medium, Gentle).
- One-knob operation: a single press-and-turn knob sets every parameter, and the program stays in memory (patent CN 202121409450.8).
- Lid-open protection: a sensor stops the rotor when the lid opens (patent CN 202121406810.9). CM-8 Plus also features an abnormal vibration stop.
- Tool-free rack change: a quick-release knob with multi-level locking force holds the rack (patent CN 202110698687.0).
- Compact design: 218 × 234 × 136 mm, ≤ 1.5 kg, with a 100–240 V power adapter (design patent CN 202130389474.0).

Operation steps
- Turn on the power; the instrument is in standby mode. Short press the control knob to enter working mode.
- In working mode, long press the knob for 2 seconds until a beep sounds to enter parameter editing mode.
- The Speed item flashes. Rotate the knob until “3000” is displayed.
- Short press the knob again to switch to Centrifuge Time; rotate until “00:10” is displayed.
- Short press the knob again to switch to Mixing Intensity; rotate to select “Medium”.
- Short press the knob again to switch to Mixing Time; rotate until “00:10” is displayed.
- Short press the knob again to switch to Cycle Count; rotate until “5” is displayed.
- Program editing completed. Long press the knob for 2 seconds until a beep sounds to exit editing and return to working mode.
- Press the knob once to start the instrument. “Stop” changes to “Run” on the screen, and the instrument starts working according to the set program.
Notes
- Always use the power adapter supplied with this instrument, and place the instrument on a level surface during use.
- Load tubes evenly: insert an equal number of uniformly filled tubes in opposite positions on the rotor.
- Maximum load weight for mixing and centrifugation: 20 g.
- Do not use the instrument to handle corrosive or explosive chemicals.

More uniform multiplex qPCR with mixing + centrifugation
Reaction system: PFM5071 lyophilized powder, the lyophilized form of AcuGenix™ Superstart All-in-One qPCR Master Mix with UNG (M2071). Template: human genome four-plex amplification assay, 24 reactions per group. Program: 50 °C, 2 min; 95 °C, 5 min; 50 cycles of 95 °C, 10 s and 55 °C, 40 s. One group was centrifuged only; the other ran 10 cycles of mixing + centrifugation on CM-8 Plus.
